Quaaout Lodge & Spa Weddings
An Indigenous-owned resort on the shore of Little Shuswap Lake, owned and operated by Skwlāx te Secwepemcúl̓ecw. The Amphitheatre — hand-carved log benches on a grassy ledge above the water, with a weeping willow framing the view — is one of the most distinctive ceremony sites in the Interior.

The spaces
Where the day happens at Quaaout Lodge & Spa
- The Amphitheatre
- Hand-carved log bench seating for around 120, perched above Little Shuswap Lake with the mountains behind and a willow framing the shot.
- The beach
- West-facing shoreline — the reason sunset ceremonies and post-dinner beach time work so well here.
- Conference centre & banquet space
- Indoor reception for up to roughly 150.
How we work it
What we've learned here
The Amphitheatre sits on a ledge above the water and it's open on the lake side, which means two things: the view is extraordinary, and there's nothing to reflect sound back toward your guests. Ceremony audio here needs to be properly powered and properly placed or the vows disappear over the lake. We bring dedicated ceremony coverage rather than relying on a distant system. The west-facing beach also means a hard sun angle in the couple's eyes for late-afternoon ceremonies — worth coordinating your timing with your photographer, and worth us knowing so we can position without putting speakers in the shot.
Planning notes
Three things worth knowing
- Confirm the current accommodation situation directly with the resort when you book — the lodge's guest-room wing was lost to fire in 2022 and the rebuild is scheduled to open in 2028, so on-site room availability has changed. The conference centre, golf course and restaurant continue to operate.
- It's about 45 minutes east of Kamloops, just off the Trans-Canada, which makes it genuinely easy for guests coming from either direction.
- The lake is the whole point — build in time for the beach between ceremony and dinner rather than rushing into the reception.

FAQ
Quaaout Lodge & Spa FAQ
Yes. The Amphitheatre is open toward the lake, so there's no natural acoustic reflection to help you — vows carry away over the water rather than back to your guests. We bring a dedicated, properly-powered ceremony system positioned for that specific problem rather than stretching the reception rig outside.
The resort continues to operate its conference centre, Talking Rock Golf Course and restaurant. The guest-room wing was lost to a fire in 2022 with a rebuild scheduled to open in 2028, so confirm the current accommodation and event details directly with the resort. We're happy to work there whenever they're hosting.
About a 45-minute drive east, just off the Trans-Canada Highway near Chase. It's an easy trip for us and for guests travelling from either Kamloops or the Shuswap.
