Where the day happens at Sun Peaks Resort
- Sunburst Chapel
- Mid-mountain, accessible only by the Sunburst Express chairlift, seats roughly a dozen. There is no electricity in the chapel — the single most important fact about it for anyone planning ceremony audio.
- Sunburst Meadows
- Alpine meadow near the top of the lift, 50–60 guests. Summer chairlift season only.
- Grand Terrace
- Outdoor terrace off the reception space with the village and Tod Mountain behind, May to October.
- Gardens at the Covered Bridge
- Tucked behind the village's covered bridge, year-round, sheltered from the worst of the weather.
- Grand Ballroom
- Indoor, up to 300, vaulted ceilings with timber accents and brass chandeliers. Divides into smaller rooms for intimate counts.
- Annex Day Lodge
- Industrial-chic open space at the base of Tod Mountain, up to 300, mid-May through late October.
How we work it
What we've learned here
The Sunburst Chapel has no power. Not limited power — none. Every ceremony up there runs on battery, and it has to be a rig sized for the whole ceremony with headroom to spare, because there's no way to swap anything mid-service and the lift is your only way up or down. We've built our mountain kit around exactly this. The Grand Ballroom is the opposite problem: vaulted ceilings and hard timber mean a big room that sounds bigger, so we tune for intelligibility during speeches rather than raw output. And everything up the mountain is load-in-constrained — gear goes up by lift or by service road on the resort's schedule, not yours, which is why we plan the mountain differently from a Kamloops ballroom.

Three things worth knowing
- If your ceremony is at the chapel or the meadows, confirm early whether your guests need lift tickets — foot-passenger tickets are usually purchasable at a group rate, but it's a detail that surprises people the week of.
- Mountain weather turns fast. Every outdoor site up here needs a written rain plan with a decision deadline, not a vague intention — we'll ask you for it because our setup changes depending on the answer.
- Guests are almost always staying in the village, which means the party can run later and nobody's driving. Worth factoring into how you plan the back half of the night.

Yes — that's exactly what our battery-powered rig is for. The chapel has no electrical service and chairlift is the only access, so we bring a self-contained system with enough runtime for the full ceremony plus margin. We've done this many times; it's routine for us and reliably surprising to venues elsewhere.

Regularly. It means two independent systems and a crew that can be in two places, which we plan for from the start rather than treating as an add-on. The mountain ceremony rig comes down while the ballroom is being set.
Yes, and we work there year-round. Winter changes the ceremony site list — the chapel and meadows run on the winter lift schedule, roughly mid-November to early April — and it changes our gear handling, since cold drains batteries faster. We plan for that.
