Monte Creek Winery Weddings

A working vineyard on the bench above the South Thompson, and the venue we're booked at more than any other. Ceremonies happen on the Lower Lawn with the vine rows and the valley behind you; receptions move into the Greenhouse.

The spaces

Where the day happens at Monte Creek Winery

Lower Lawn
Ceremony site set among the vine rows, looking out over the South Thompson Valley. Open and exposed — wind off the valley is the variable that matters most here.
The Greenhouse
Glass-walled reception space. Beautiful at dusk, and acoustically live — hard surfaces on five sides mean sound placement matters more than sound volume.
Grounds & barrel room
Cocktail-hour spillover and photo territory while the Greenhouse is flipped.

How we work it

What we've learned here

The Greenhouse is the room that catches people out. Glass on almost every surface means a system that sounds great in a carpeted ballroom turns harsh and echoey here. We run a tighter, more directional setup with the subs positioned to avoid loading the glass, and we keep dinner levels lower than you'd expect because the room amplifies everything on its own. The Lower Lawn needs its own thinking: it's exposed, and an afternoon breeze off the valley will eat an underpowered ceremony system. We bring dedicated ceremony audio rather than trying to stretch the reception rig up the hill.

Planning notes

Three things worth knowing

  1. Ceremony timing matters here more than at most venues. A 4:30–5:00pm ceremony puts the sun behind the vines instead of in your guests' eyes, and drops the temperature off the August peak.
  2. The Greenhouse flip between dinner and dancing is tight. We coordinate our changeover with the venue team ahead of the day so the floor opens without a dead twenty minutes.
  3. It's a working winery outside city limits — plan guest transport. A shuttle back into Kamloops keeps the bar open longer and the party going later.

Reviews

From a couple who married at Monte Creek Winery

"Our wedding at Monte Creek Winery was everything we hoped for, and Emmanuel played a huge role in that. The perfect vibe from ceremony through cocktail hour and dinner, and then he absolutely crushed it once the dance floor opened. The music was tailored to our crowd and the energy never dropped."

"Hiring Common Sound as our wedding DJ in Kamloops was one of the best decisions we made. From the ceremony audio to the last song of the night, everything sounded perfect and the flow of the evening felt effortless. Jesse kept the timeline running smoothly and absolutely packed the dance floor. Multiple people told us it was the best wedding reception they'd been to in years."

"We wanted a DJ who could handle both the emotional moments and a full-on dance party — Common Sound delivered on both. The ceremony audio was flawless, the speeches were clear, and the dance floor was packed all night. Jesse did an amazing job reading the room and keeping every age group involved."

FAQ

Monte Creek Winery FAQ

Yes — it's the room we've worked in more than any other. The all-glass construction makes it acoustically live, so we size and position the system for the reflections rather than fighting them with volume. Dinner music sits lower than most rooms and the dance floor still hits hard once the sun's down.

That's the standard Monte Creek run and yes. We bring separate ceremony audio for the Lower Lawn rather than stretching the reception system, because the lawn is exposed and valley wind will swallow an underpowered rig. The two systems run independently so the changeover is seamless.

It's one of the most in-demand venues in the Kamloops area, and our own calendar for Monte Creek Saturdays in July and August typically fills 12–15 months out. If you have a date at the winery, checking DJ availability early is worth doing.
