A couple of our DJs have been DJing for over 10 years, but we truly don't believe time spent doing something is a good way to evaluate competency. That's why we put a lot of focus on our proprietary training systems and crowd-reading techniques — plus a heavy emphasis on customer service and great attitudes. Those values shine.
A DJ may be great at mixing, but if their equipment is an eyesore and their speakers crackle, no one remembers the transitions. We always bring top-of-the-line gear — and the photos of gear on our site and in our studio are ACTUALLY the gear we use. No laptop-and-mustard-stained-t-shirt surprises. We promise.
After booking we send our 'SongChecklist' — every opportunity for music throughout the day, where you can add as many (or as few) songs as you'd like, including must-plays. There's a section for friends and family too. Our DJs take requests on the day (if you're okay with it); we use them to read who really wants to dance.
All we need to get started is a 30% deposit, with the remaining balance due one month before the event. All invoices are online and reminders are sent automatically — we keep it simple.
We don't include gratuity in the contract price. Like any other service, 10–20% is generally recommended if your DJ did a great job — but it's entirely up to you.
On average we're booked for weddings around 13 months before the big day (May–October dates). For private events not on a Saturday, we suggest locking in 6 months ahead. Every date is different though, and we often have DJs available last minute — so reach out regardless of your timeline!
We are, unfortunately, human — so for evening events of 4+ hours, a meal is built into our rider. A happy and fed DJ is better than a hungry one. We're especially happy when there are a couple of drink tickets too 😎.
