What we've learned here
Modern winery architecture tends toward hard surfaces — concrete, glass, steel — which look extraordinary and behave acoustically like a bathroom. Contemporary estate rooms need a controlled, directional system rather than raw output, or speeches wash out entirely. Outdoor vineyard sites carry the usual exposure considerations: wind up the terraces and afternoon sun off the lake.

Three things worth knowing
- Lake Country is a real drive north of Kelowna — closer to 30 minutes from downtown than the 15 people assume. Guest accommodation planning matters.
- Modern architectural spaces are where uplighting earns its keep: clean lines and neutral surfaces take colour beautifully, where a rustic barn fights it.
- The vineyard rows run toward the lake, which means late-afternoon sun comes straight down them into a west-facing ceremony. Worth checking your orientation with the venue.

We serve the Central Okanagan on select dates from our Kamloops base. Lake Country is within that, and availability is worth checking early since it isn't our home market.
Concrete, glass and steel are acoustically reflective — beautiful rooms that create a long reverb tail. We run a controlled, directional setup in spaces like this so that speeches stay intelligible.
It offers both, which means the weather contingency is easier here than at an open farm site — but we still plan for the switch rather than assuming it.
