How we work it

What we've learned here

Beach ceremonies are open-air with water on one side — sound disperses and there's nothing to bring it back, so ceremony audio needs proper power and careful placement. Sand also complicates staging and cable routing, which we plan for. The advantage of a resort property is that the reception space, the power and the load-in are all sorted, so the outdoor component is the only piece requiring special handling. Guests staying on site means the night can run later.

Planning notes

Three things worth knowing

  1. Beach ceremonies photograph beautifully and are unforgiving of wind. An afternoon breeze off Okanagan Lake is normal, not exceptional.
  2. Guests staying at the resort means nobody's driving — build that into how late you plan to go.
  3. Sand and formal shoes. Tell people.

FAQ

The Cove Lakeside Resort FAQ

Yes. Open shoreline means sound disperses over the water with nothing to reflect it back, so we bring properly powered ceremony audio positioned for the conditions rather than relying on a small system.

Considerably — reliable power, real load-in access and an indoor reception space with a weather fallback. The beach ceremony is the only part needing special handling.

Yes, on select dates as part of our Central Okanagan coverage. Our home base is Kamloops, so early availability checks matter more here than in the Interior.
